  Can't read the Bible without the aid of the Watchtower publications.

  Can't go to a bookstore and purchase any book they feel like reading.

  Great thread. I thought I was going to hate it but it turned out to be fun. It got me in the Christmas mood enough to go in the closet and locate the frut cake that has been passed around here for generations. Now where is that eggnog?

  Can't we at least wait till November to discuss Christmas. Even most retailer have the decency not to start putting Christmas things out till late September.

  i pick up the moving truck friday morning, load up and head out of ohio about 1 a.m. monday, which will get me to dallas monday evening.

  on wnd today a columnist wrote an article that i thought was ok on the surface.

  he didn't stick it to any religion in particular, just sort of gave a mini capsule review of lesser known religions.

  that is until i read the following way at the bottom of the article: .

  Trouble for Richie?

  so today, after the meeting, one of the elders from my jc walks up to me and my mother and asks if we had time to talk.

  thankfully, i had to get to work, and mom wasn't feeling great.

  we said today wasn't good.. so basiccally he said that he and another brother want to meet with us on wednsday night, after the tms, to "see how things are going".. so here's quandry:.

  If you have been working a lot rather than going to meetings and out in service they may be stopping by to "encourage you" as they say. Elders can be nice guys or complete idiots. You know the ones you are dealing with better than anyone so you should have good idea of what they are up to.

  Oh, and the fried chicken sounds good tonight.

  a while back, an aquaintance of mine told me that he liked to visit prostitutes.

  although we weren't that close, i'd worked on and off with him over the years.

  i knew his wife too and would often see her around town.. he'd told me that when he had something to celebrate, like his birthday or maybe a commercial win, he and a pal of his would do the pubs and clubs first and then go kerb crawling until they found a pair of street girls who would play the swopsy's scene.

  What a knucle-head to put you in a position like that. He is also putting his wife's health in danger without her even knowing it. I think I would tell him I don't think it would be a good idea for us to get together because I would probably wind up telling his wife the danger she was in. Also I don't consider prostitution a victimless crime. Even though you are paying you are still using the woman whether she knows it or not. She is also using you. I don't think it is healthy for the souls of either party.
